Concert Tours

Since 2010, GBRT has run annual European concert tours for members of our choirs and ensembles during the Easter break. In addition to the fantastic experience of performing to varied audiences in stunning venues, these tours also see the choirs bond together leading to long-term advantages for future performances.

All tours are organised in conjunction with the speciality group travel company, Club Europe Concert Tours. All members of the GBRT choirs are eligible to join the tours. These tours are a fantastic experience for all concerned so we hope that you can join the next one.

Concert Tour – Belgium 2012
In 2012, the GBRT concert tour will take members of the Youth Flute & Youth Vocal Choirs on a series of three concerts to the beautiful city of Bruges. We will stay at the Bruges Europa Youth Hostel, in rooms of 4 people, which will be our base and rehearsal venue.

Departure :  10th April 2012 at 5.30am from Great Bowden Village Hall
Return :        14th April 2012 at 10.45pm to Great Bowden Village Hall

All monies have now been paid so no further payments are due from parents. This tour will include concerts at a theatre in Dover to fundraise for Juvenile Diabetes organised by the Rotary Club, a concert in Bruges in association with a Belgian charity called 'Kitanda' to fundraise to build a school for disadvantaged children and orphans in Kenya and finally a concert in the beautiful town of Leuven at the invitation of the Mayor to fundraise for the rebuilding of a school in Haiti following the earthquake.

Choir members will also enjoy a treasure hunt around Bruges, a day at the Bobejannland Theme Park, Last Post at the Menin Gate in Ypres and a chocolate demonstration and tasting.

Recommended spending money for this trip is no more than £100 per person which will pay for lunches and snacks plus additional funds for the daya t the Theme Park. Please ensure that this is taken in Euros and, for the younger members of the choir, divided into money daily bags so that they have some left at the end of the trip.

Prior to the trip, both of these choirs will be performing at the pre-tour concert held at Robert Smyth School, Burnmill Road, Market Harborough at 7.30pm on 24 March 2012.  Tickets will be available nearer the time from ABC MH Music in Market Harborough.  After the concert will be a full presentation on the tour for parents whose children are attending with the opportunity to see the full itinerary in detail and to ask any questions.

Concert Tour – Belgium 2013
In 2013, the GBRT concert tour will take members of the Adult Vocal Choir, Adult Flute Choir and Sax Choir on a series of three concerts to Belgium.

Departure : 2nd April 2013
Return : 6th April 2013
Cost : £410 per person

The cost includes : bed and breakfast accommodation, dinner at hotels and/or restaurants, return channel crossing, coach hire, fully comprehensive travel insurance and group trips.  If choir members have current medical conditions, please arrange individual travel insurance which covers these, in addition to the group insurance.  Exact accommodation and concert venues will be confirmed in January 2012 once the review trip has been undertaken.

The first deposit of £100 to confirm your place on this tour is due by 31st January 2012. This early deposit will allow us to benefit from early booking tour discounts so if you are interested in coming, please ensure you don't miss out. The other payments will be due by 20th May 2012 (£150) with the balance due by 21st October 2012 (£160). Should you wish to stay in a single room, a supplement will be payable.
