Instrument Donations
Donating Instruments
The Trust organises a Musical Instrument Amnesty each year, whereby instruments that are no longer used or stored in the loft can be handed to the Trust. We arrange for the instruments to be serviced, and repaired where necessary, and hired at a nominal £5 per month, to local young people who cannot afford to buy their own instruments.
Hire an Instrument
We keep the cost of hire as low as possible, just £5 per month for a maximum of two terms, which enables parents of young musicians to save up to purchase an instrument of their own. This money then forms part of the Grants that the Trust distributes each year. After this time, the instrument is handed back to the Trust and redistributed to another musician.
At present, we have a range of instruments available for hire so if you would like to enjoy the benefit of one of these, please Contact Us and specify which you are interested in from the GBRT Instrument List.
What Type of Instruments?
Since the Trust is involved in providing grants to young people for orchestral instruments and instrumental lessons, we would be delighted to receive any of the following:
Woodwind: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Bassoon
Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Euphonium, Tuba
String: Violin, Viola, Violincello (No Double Bass please due to storage difficulties)
Don’t Wait To Donate
If you have a musical instrument in the house that is no longer being used and you would like to find it a better home, don’t feel as though you have to wait until May to donate it. Please Contact Us and we will be happy to take it off your hands throughout the rest of the year too.
Donating Money
Alternatively, if you would like to make a donation to the Trust either now or you would like to make a gesture towards the ongoing work of the Great Bowden Recital Trust in your will, please Contact Us to discuss the most tax efficient method.
