GBRT Adult Choir

With over 90 registered members, the GBRT Adult Choir is a friendly and fun community choir singing hits from the West End and light easy-listening music. Anyone aged 18 or over is welcome to join.

Our repertoire includes songs from popular films and musicals such as Les Miserables, Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, Beauty and the Beast and Working Girl, as well as pop and rock and other modern choral music. We are very much a community and enjoy regular social events and trips as well as our regular rehearsals. We have a pastoral team who welcome new members and help them settle in. We work hard in rehearsals but we also have fun.

The Choir performs regularly in the local area and beyond, and has taken part in concert tours to Barcelona, Bruges in Belgium, Maastricht in The Netherlands, Lake Garda and Friuli-Venezia Giulia in Italy and the Rhine Valley in Germany.

Open to anyone aged 18 or over, we don’t hold auditions and no previous experience is required – you simply need to be able to hold a tune and have bags of enthusiasm for singing. Our fabulous Musical Director records rehearsal tracks for each part which are a great way to learn the songs in between rehearsals, particularly for anyone who doesn’t read music.

Musical Director: Tracey Holderness

Tracey is a singing teacher and vocal coach from Market Harborough. After graduating from Sheffield University with a BMus, she gained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Musical Theatre from Arts Educational in London.

Tracey has worked for eight years as a professional singer during which time she performed as a soloist with light operatic companies and performed in a wide variety of musical theatre productions, most notably in the Rocky Horror Show and Return to the Forbidden Planet, both in the UK and Europe. Tracey teaches singing both privately and as a specialist teacher visiting several schools in the area.

Tracey has accumulated vast experience with amateur musical groups and companies including delivering technique workshops to adult choirs and leading Musical Theatre courses. She is the original conductor of the GBRT Adult Choir and has toured with them to Barcelona, Bruges, Maastricht, Lake Garda, Rhineland and Fruili-Venezia Giulia.
